So
far I have 2 finishes especially made for H2H charities this year. I
have had PLENTY of time to sew and quilt.
First
I searched my stash of flannel for some suitable for a baby. Since
flannel can be stretchy, I used a 1/2
inch seam allowance and sewed with my Walking Foot. It went
together quickly and smoothly. I used a fluffy poly batting and
instead of using binding I turned it pillowcase style. It is very
soft and cuddly. This is one will go to Little Lambs foundation
for kids.
Next
I raided my 4 1/2” strip tub to make a child's comfort quilt to
finish 48” by 60”. I had just enough solid black. The top was
pieced by mid-afternoon and I have pulled fabrics for the backing. I
adapted a free pattern from Northcott designed by Kari Nichols andPatti Carey called “Colorworks”. The link is from their achieved
patterns. This quilt
is planned for Quilts for a Cure.
Hope
you are all staying healthy and finding plenty of time to sew and
quilt for someone who needs comfort.
Beautiful little quilts, Elizabeth! Thanks for being part of Hands2Help 2020!
