The past week my quilting time was spent on a couple unplanned projects. I pulled a box of gifted old 1” finished squares. They were leftover from a Trip Around the World that she had hand pieced. I decided that I would challenge myself to make a small Trip Around the World before I would pass them on. I pieced a wall-hanging 19” by 23” and FM quilted with variegated thread. I made a two color (faux flange) binding but I was too tired to sew it one Sunday night.
Last Wednesday at church quilt group we received a request for a set of placemats to be auctioned for the Family Promise fundraiser. After church I pulled fabric and cut enough for a set of 8 using Jordan Fabrics free Courthouse Steps pattern. There is also a video tutorial on YouTube. I made one block as a sample.
We have had a few days of springlike beautiful weather. My son helped me work one day to get the vegetable garden ready for planting. I'm looking forward to more pretty weather even though I will not get as much quilting done.
Stash Report for 2025

Have a great week and enjoy sewing, quilting and creating.
