I have been inspired by the designs of Anna Maria (Horner) Parry for several years. Earlier this year I borrowed her book Anna Maria's Blueprint Quilting through my local library with the Hoopla app. Then a church member pieced a quilt top that I thought would make a great background for some applique. I wanted to try some of Anna Maria's applique ideas. Here is the quilt top before my embellishment.
I made 1/2” wide bias tape for stems and vines. I used fusible applique with machine blanket stitch around the leaves and flowers. Here is the top with my applique.
I love it and look forward to using more applique on future projects.
